Course Details
As one of the largest forklift training providers in Ontario, Industrial Safety Trainers pride ourselves in delivering impactful discussion-based training on the safe use of forklifts. In addition, our forklift safety certification follows the current CSA Standard B335 for the Safe Operation of Lifting trucks, as well as the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training & Skills Development “Guideline for The Safe Operation and Maintenance of Powered Lift Trucks.”
If you have a group of six or more, we can bring the Rough Terrain Forklift Training course directly to your site on a date that works for you. Please contact us for a quote.
Practical Skills Evaluation
Certification of competency requires successful completion of both a written in-class examination and a hands-on practical skills evaluation to be completed at your workplace or job site. The evaluation fee is $70 per person per assessment. Additional fees may apply for multiple equipment evaluations and locations outside our standard service area. Please contact us for specific coverage details.
Candidates should complete their practical evaluation within 90 days of successfully completing the course.
For IST to conduct the equipment evaluation, participants must ensure:
- They possess sufficient prior experience with each piece of equipment to be evaluated
- All equipment has current annual certification and inspection documentation
- The equipment is properly maintained and functioning correctly
Course Duration:
5-6 Hours
Materials Provided:
Course materials and participant workbooks.
Training Is Valid For:
3 year from the date of successful completion.

Related Programs:
A 1 hour mandatory training course for anyone who is authorized to handle and change Propane Cylinders.
A 6 hour course focused on the safe handling and operation of forklifts including a practical evaluation on forklift classes I, II, IV and V.

Truck Pre-Use Inspection
Learn to conduct regular inspections of lift trucks to detect and address issues promptly.
Lift Truck Stability
Understand the principles of stability and load capacity to operate the lift truck safely.
Load Handling & Attachments
Understand safe load handling techniques and the impact of attachments on lift truck stability and capacity.
Parts of A Lift Truck
Become familiar with the parts of a lift truck, including the mast, forks, hydraulics, and controls.
