For this course we can conduct the training at your facility or at our own training facility, whichever will suit your needs best. There are some great benefits to both approaches. By completing your training on-site we can save your staff travel time, by completing your training at our facility you can benefit from our spacious training room, our state of the art hands on training space and full use of our break room.
This training program is geared towards Construction and Maintenance Workers and their Supervisors that will need to conduct Type 1 and Type 2 Operations such as: Emergency Clean-up, Removal and Replacement of Asbestos Containing Ceiling Tiles, Minor Asbestos Removals, Cutting and Drilling of Asbestos-Containing Plaster and Drywall.

Who should attend the Asbestos Abatement Type 1 & 2 training?
This training is intended for maintenance personnel, general construction or renovation workers, property developers, building maintenance staff, and their supervisors who may perform or oversee Type 1 or Type 2 asbestos operations.
What kinds of work does “Type 1 & 2” include?
Type 1 and Type 2 operations generally involve lower-risk asbestos work such as emergency clean-up, removal or replacement of asbestos-containing ceiling tiles, minor asbestos removals, and cutting or drilling of plaster or drywall containing asbestos.
Is there any prerequisite for this training?
No. You can enroll in this program without any prior training or certifications. The course is designed for anyone who needs the foundational knowledge and practical skills to work safely with asbestos in Type 1 and 2 operations.
Can the training be delivered on-site at our facility?
Yes. We offer both on-site training at your workplace and classroom-based training at our training facility. This flexibility allows you to choose what best fits your team’s schedule.
What does this certificate qualify me for?
This certificate satisfies training requirements for workers and supervisors performing Type 1 or Type 2 asbestos work under provincial regulation (for example, Ontario’s Ontario Regulation 278/05). It demonstrates that workers have received the necessary instruction in asbestos hazards, controls, safe work practices, PPE use, and waste disposal associated with Type 1 & 2 operations.
Does this training qualify me for Type 3 asbestos work or for official asbestos-abatement worker certification?
No. The Type 1 & 2 training is limited in scope to Type 1 and Type 2 asbestos operations only. It does not qualify a worker for Type 3 abatement work. Workers requiring certification for Type 3 asbestos operations must complete the more comprehensive Type 3/Asbestos Abatement Worker (253W) program or an equivalent Ministry-approved program.
