Course Details
All Health & Safety Representatives and supervisors are required to be trained in Ontario. For those companies that are required to have a H&S Rep, but not large enough to need a JHSC are required to provide Health & Safety Representatives with training that will allow them to perform their tasks as a safety representative.
If you have a group of six or more, we can bring the Competent Supervisor Training course directly to your site on a date that works for you. Please contact us for a quote.

What The Course Includes
Competent Supervisor certification training provides participants with the knowledge and information they need to be an effective health and safety representative. During the discussion-based training, participants will gain a fundamental understanding of the following topics:
Enforcement, Offences & Penalties
Understand the Occupational Health and Safety Act including enforcement, offences and penalties.
Policy Requirements
Learn about the requirements for a workplace or business to have a Health and Safety Policy and Program.
Duties & Responsibilities
Identify the duties and responsibilities of all workplace parties.
Hazard Identification
Explain hazard recognition in your workplace, and how to identify controls for those hazards.
Roles of Representatives
The role of Safety Representatives and their authority in the workplace.
Refusal of Work
Understand the policies around work stoppages and work refusals.
Risk Assessment
Learn and understand how to conduct a Risk Assessment for your business.
Accident Investigation
Learn about workplace and accident investigation and inspections.
