Course Details
The JHSC Refresher is a one day course that reviews the concepts learned in Part 1 and Part 2 of the JHSC Certification process and updates participants on changes to the Act, Regulations and relevant health and safety standards.
It also provides opportunities for learners to share JHSC best practices, and to discuss JHSC challenges and potential resolutions.
The JHSC Refresher is required to be taken every 3 years by certified members of a joint health and safety committee to maintain certification. A certified JHSC member who does not complete a refresher within 3 years of certification (or their last refresher) is no longer recognized as a certified JHSC member.
Course Details

Prerequisites: Joint Health and Safety Committee Part 1 & P2
Course Duration:
8 Hours
Materials Provided:
Course materials, participant workbooks and Ontario Green Book (OH&S Act & Regulations)
Certificate Issued:
Upon completion, students will be issued a certificate and wallet card showing proof of their training.

What The Course Includes
The Occupational Health and Safety Act, Subsection 9(12) requires most workplaces with 20 or more workers to have at least one worker and one management person serve as certified members of a workplace Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
JHSC certification training provides participants with the knowledge and information they need to be an effective health and safety representative. During the discussion based training, participants will gain a fundamental understanding of the following topics:
